Dessert Apples - Try Russet & Cox varieties.

Cooking Apples - Bramley apples ideal for pies & crumbles.

Pears - Good for both eating & cooking.

Rhubarb - Perfect for a crumble.

Seville Oranges - Their short 3 week season begins the end of January.

Clementine's & Satsuma's - Easy to peel & just coming into season from abroad during December. Clementine's past their best by the end of February. Satsuma's are the first citrus fruit to vanish after Christmas.

Ruby Red Blood Oranges - Starting to appear from Spain & Israel from February.

Grapefruit - Available all year round but tend to be cheaper in January.  Pink grapefruit appears in late winter early spring.

Chestnuts - Ideal roasted.

Hazelnuts - Crush for use in meringues.

Walnuts - Add to winter salads or pasta dishes.
